Review mode: checked first or released at once

Every takeoff is checked by a LumberSet estimator, a reviewer on our staff. The review mode decides when that check happens. Choose it in Settings.

Checked first

The takeoff waits for the estimator. When they approve it, it is released to you and you get an email. You never see an unchecked takeoff. This is the default for a new workspace, and the safer choice.

Released at once, checked after

You get the takeoff the moment reading finishes, and the estimator checks it afterwards. You are not waiting on anyone. If the estimator changes something, the takeoff recomputes and the change shows on the takeoff as corrected by a LumberSet estimator.

Some takeoffs always wait

Even with Released at once, a takeoff with low confidence or an open question still waits for the check before it reaches you. That is a safeguard, not a setting you need to manage.

Choosing

Checked first suits a yard that sends quotes straight from the takeoff. Released at once suits a yard that checks every takeoff itself anyway and wants it sooner.

What the estimator does

The estimator compares the takeoff with the drawings and corrects what was read wrong. Their changes recompute the takeoff the same way yours do.
