RFQs and the supplier reply page
Send a takeoff to the yards you choose, and see what each one sees and sends back.
An RFQ sends a finished takeoff to the yards you choose and collects their quotes in one place.
Sending one
- Open RFQs and choose New RFQ, then pick the project and its released takeoff.
- Add each yard by email. A contact name and company are optional but help.
- Add a note if you want, for example a delivery date.
- Choose Create and send. Each yard gets its own email and its own private link.
The takeoff is frozen when the RFQ is created, so every yard prices the same list.
What the yard sees
The link opens a page with the project name, your company, your note, and every takeoff line with quantities and units. There are no prices on it. The yard can download the list as a PDF for its estimator. When a yard opens the link, its status changes to Opened, so you know it arrived.
What the yard sends back
On the same page the yard enters a total, adds notes, and can attach its own quote as a PDF. A yard that does not want the job can decline instead. You get an email either way.
Comparing replies
Your RFQ page lists every yard with its status: Not sent, Sent, Opened, Replied or Declined. Totals sort with the lowest first. Open a reply to read the notes and the attached quote.
Adding a yard later or closing
You can add a yard after sending; they get their email on the next send. When you have chosen, close the RFQ. Yards can no longer reply, and their links say so.
