Sending a quote and what the customer sees
Build a quote from a released takeoff, send it, and know what arrives on the other side.
A quote is the priced offer you send a customer, built from a takeoff.
Building the quote
- Open a released takeoff and choose Create quote.
- Check the lines. Change quantities and prices where you need to, and type a price on any No match line.
- Set tax, discount and delivery, and add a note to the customer if you want one.
The quote is valid for the number of days set under Quotes valid for in Settings.
Sending
Choose Send to customer. The project needs a customer with an email address, and no line can be priced at $0. LumberSet emails the customer a link to the quote with the PDF attached, under your yard's name. Replies go to the Email for replies set in Settings, so set one.
What the customer sees
The customer opens a page with your yard's name and details, the project, every line with quantities and prices, the total and the date the quote is valid until. They can download the PDF and accept or decline with one click. They never see your SKUs, costs or matches.
When they decide
You get an email the moment the customer accepts or declines, and the quote's status changes in your list.
Changing your mind
When prices move or the builder changes something, edit the quote and send it again. That never costs anything extra. You pay once, when the takeoff is released to your yard.
