Revised drawings after a takeoff was released: what happens, what it shows, and the fee.
Drawings change. When revised or additional drawings arrive after a takeoff has been released, add them to the project as a change order.
What a change order is
A change order has its own plan set and its own takeoff, numbered within the project: Change Order 1, Change Order 2 and so on. The original takeoff stays as it was.
What it shows
Beside the new takeoff you see what changed compared with the released takeoff it revises: the lines added, the lines removed, and the quantities that changed. That is usually all a yard needs to adjust an order, and all a builder needs to adjust a bid.
How to start one
Open the project and choose New change order, then upload the revised drawings. Reading and review work the same way as for the original set, including your review mode.
What it costs
A change order's takeoff carries a change order fee when it is released. It is set on your billing plan and it is lower than the quote fee. Credits and coupons do not apply to it.
A revised set before release
If the drawings change before the first takeoff has been released, upload them as a new plan set on the project instead. Keep in mind that each takeoff is charged when it is released, so a second takeoff on a second plan set is charged too.
